Taken shortly before my heart attack.

Animal magic

I love animals, and this piece of film makes me feel so good every time I look at it. It's a true story.

  1. NHS Dentists & Opticians

Are not cheap - not by a long chalk. However, with regard to Dentists, it's still good value. I gave up smoking last Christmas night and have developed a love of Mint Humbugs with the lovely chewy centres. Unfortunately they have played havoc with my teeth.

My Dental bill is going to be £198 which does sound a lot - well it does to me this side of Christmas - but for that I am getting a whole load of work done which is not bad really. So although I am dreading it, I don't begrudge paying.

The biggest beef I have is the Opticians. Okay so I qualify for a free eye test - whoop-de-doo. It's the glasses themselves which are going to hit my pocket - and I don't want a spare pair. I am sick of seeing Designer frames which all look alike - I don't want farty little frames on my glasses they don't suit me and I'm damned if I'm going to pay a fantastic amount for same. I most definitely will NOT be going back to the same Optician next time as I have never found the specs they provided that brilliant. In fact I am going to avoid all of these we do it cheapest or quickest places and find me a good old fashioned Optician.
